This is a Senior DnA technology role and part of the DnA CTO organization.
Senior Engineer of DnA Cloud leads strategic initiatives, builds future state architectures, defines standards, fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration in achieving our vision.
The team has broad expertise in BMO T&O organization’s critical platforms, data, architecture, and cloud domains. We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer/Architect to be part of a team that is building our future state DnA internal SaaS. The platform will modernize our DnA ecosystem across the bank. And it will enable our lines of businesses to migrate to the cloud and operate with speed and scale.
This role will be responsible for developing cloud-based capabilities, designing enterprise scale solutions, leading development, driving principles and standards that will achieve future state architecture.
The ideal candidate should have deep expertise with cloud capability & platform development, distributed systems, and a desire to drive change through technology enablement across the bank. The role requires the candidate to be hands on with modern cloud, data, and microservices technologies.
In this role, you will propel BMO’s Digital First strategy forward by providing business and technology with the information management leadership necessary for solutions to realize a Future Ready data and analytics ecosystem.
You will lead and develop cloud data capability and platforms centered on building a digitally enabled, future-ready bank with leading efficiency, profitability, and loyalty - all powered by a winning culture.

Responsibilities:
Builds DnA Cloud foundational capabilities as part of an internal DnA SaaS ecosystem that ultimately enables the bank to generate insights, discover new opportunities, and create new products and services at scale
Creates internal DnA SaaS Cloud environments by leveraging latest Data and Cloud best practices
Leverages latest Cloud tooling to deliver standardized patterns with infrastructure as code, security, governance, and best practices built in
Delivers scalable, agile, and fast data and analytics capabilities across the bank
Breaks down opportunities, challenges, and problems into smaller deliverables
Delivers in fast paces agile execution approach
Leverages latest technology and approaches to build forward looking capabilities
Delivers against aggressive roadmaps
Partners with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reusable enterprise scale solutions
Works as part of cross functional POD team focused on key initiatives
Shapes DnA Cloud strategy and roadmap to rapidly transform data and analytics landscape while meeting business priorities
Provides technology leadership that is crucial to our world-class agile execution teams
Becomes an early adopter of new technologies, technical skills, and capabilities, leading to continuous improvement to solutions that capitalize on emerging trends
Introduces and enables emerging technologies like Cloud Data, Analytics, AI/ML, Blockchain, and others to drive innovation across the bank
Accelerates rationalization of legacy to serverless and future state architectures to achieve speed to market for lines of businesses
Partners with engineering, enterprise architecture, data, and operations organizations to ensure adoption of standards for data Cloud disciplines
Reimagines agility in highly regulated environment by embedding right control points in SDLC to achieve strong compliance and sustainable velocity while reducing friction between governance, information security, architecture, and technology teams
Designs and implements strategies to monitor the effectiveness of information security, standards programs, and strategic initiatives to identify, manage, and mitigate current and emerging risks
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
5+ years of cloud or development related work experience
AWS Professional certification with hands-on working experience in AWS, experience with Azure or another cloud
Strong coding skills in Node.js or Java & Python
Strong Linux and networking skills
Strong knowledge and experience of software development, build, deployment, and operation
Skills and experience to translate requirements into cloud solution
Demonstrated experience writing Infrastructure-as-Code using some of following: Cloud Formation, Python, Typescript, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHubs, etc
Demonstrated experience in technologies such as Data pipelines, MPP, Data warehouse, Data lake, Serverless, Containers, and Kubernetes
Experience of building and managing HA/DR system in cloud environment
Working understanding of the DevOps model and agile project execution
