BMO Financial Group Manager, Designer, Financial Crimes Unit in Virtual, North Carolina
Reporting to the Senior Creative Services Manager for the Financial Crimes Unit, this a key position on an agile team of creatives, technical experts, and communications specialists, responsible for best-in-class marketing and internal comms. Must have expert knowledge and experience in a wide range of design areas, including digital illustration, layout design, photo editing, branding, and web design principles. Any experience with video editing, digital animation, HTML/CSS a plus, or with upskill in these. Comfortable developing an understanding of technical subject matter, in order to work with clients to refine projects suited to their goals, audience and message. Expert skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and PowerPoint.
Provides creative, publishing and technical support in the design and production of high quality research, sales and promotional content solutions. Participates in the end-to-end processes of publishing content using various media including, electronic report formats/templates, printed reports, video, audio, and digital content. Works with internal and external stakeholders to produce high-quality end products in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions.
Advises on design strategies, concepts and priorities in support of the marketing and business objectives.
Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
Leads in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
Develops and manages a business/group program.
Reviews the program for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required.
Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
Manages production to ensure projects are on schedule, on budget and maintain the expected quality.
Oversees the coordination and execution of the plan and calendar for all content production across all stages of the publication process.
Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service
Coordinates budgets and reporting to track actual results vs budget.
Leads/oversees the management of vendor relationships and provides guidelines for execution; ensures that all agreements are met as per requirements.
Collaborates with internal business/groups in order to deliver on business objectives.
Establishes and manages relationships with external stakeholders, which may include vendors/ suppliers.
Maintains procedures and processes to effectively manage projects.
Follows quality control processes to ensure quality and consistency of publication solutions. Ensures projects adhere to applicable corporate and brand standards.
Coordinates and distributes/posts/publishes approved content solutions as required and in conjunction with business/stakeholders.
Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
Manages schedules/projects to ensure the timely delivery of creative solutions.
Maintains awareness of industry trends, technological and production advancements to improve creative solutions and operations.
Assist in the development and execution of an integrated content publication strategy and ensures content solutions in all channels are aligned.
Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications:
Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and experience with computers and graphic software. – Expert.
Knowledge of the printing industry, graphics industry and financial services industry – In-depth.
Experience and knowledge of web design technologies – In-depth.
Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
