Under the direction of the Senior Manager, responsible for generating, analyzing and refining financial information and positioning results and achievements that will be disclosed in the external reporting of financial performance of the Bank through the annual and quarterly MD&A, associated press releases and reports to shareholders, as well as aiding in the preparation of Investor Relations reports and materials for events.

The Senior Analyst, Investor Relations is accountable for:

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, the individual is responsible for generating, analyzing and refining financial information that will be disclosed in the external reporting of financial performance of the Bank through the annual and quarterly MD&A, associated press releases and reports to shareholders, in conjunction with Financial Performance Management and Corporate Communications.The individual is also involved in the drafting and positioning of results and achievements in external communications, and aids in the preparation of Investor Relations reports and materials for events. The individual will foster and maintain strong relationships with colleagues spanning all Groups and different functional areas coordinating the various information requests and responses to ensure high quality reporting is produced efficiently and within timelines. The individual will contribute to a tightly knit team that operates collaboratively and is results-oriented.

Accountabilities

Assist with overall positioning of results and achievements in external communications, including the quarterly report to shareholders and earnings release, annual information form and the annual report, to contribute to increasing shareholder value and to enhance the Bank’s reputation by communicating the Bank’s financial performance and strategies effectively.

Monitor legal and other regulatory developments influencing disclosure requirements to identify external issues that may affect approach to disclosure and ensure that Bank disclosures are in compliance.Monitor peer group disclosure practices and recommend and implement changes to our practices based on observations to ensure the Bank maintains its leadership and reputation related to disclosure and increases its competitive advantage.

Follow-up and resolve review comments on the MD&A (with the Senior Manager, IR) received from the CFO, executives, internal and external legal counsel and the external auditor.

Aid Investor Relations in the preparation of daily market updates, analyst summary reports, materials for rating agency meetings and investor events, and other activities as needed.

Auditing the numbers at key points in the process, to confirm that they agree to the supplementary package produced by the Chief Accountant’s Group and/or other reports produced by Corporate groups. Train and oversee the audit work of 1-2 individuals, keeping the Senior Manager, IR updated on the progress of the audit.

Review MD&A commentary prepared by others for reasonableness, flag areas of concern and resolve the issue in a timely manner.

Maintain good working relationships with key contributors, even while working through more complex issues (i.e. Tax, Risk, Legal etc.)

Identify process improvements to reduce costs and increase overall effectiveness of external reporting processes.

Perform review procedures to ensure that various formats (including French) of our disclosures are accurate (including our web versions, printed versions and versions filed with OSC and SEC).

Validating any discrepancies amongst numbers provided by different Operating and Corporate Groups to ensure consistency.

Preparing a document for the auditors that identifies the source of each number (i.e. financial statements, spreadsheets from the operating group etc.).

Acting as support on any other key deliverables from the team.

Qualifications:

a) Knowledge / Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Finance function in financial services

Must have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance/Business/Commerce, data sciences, engineering, or mathematics

Completed an accounting designation e.g. CA, CGA, CMA

Exhibits critical thinking skills, analytical and integrative skills

Demonstrates solid communication skills (both written and verbal)

Possess knowledge of design and analysis methodologies to work in an agile environment

Familiar with one or more industry leading data and analytics tool sets including but not limited to – TIBCO Spotfire, TIBCO BPM, SQL, SAS and Tableau

b) Skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks under very tighttimelines while maintaining the integrity ofthe information

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to take initiatives, energetic, work independently and establish priorities.

Ability to establish conducive working relationships with coworkers across different business groups

Ability to independently respond to moderately complex queries from internal stakeholders.

Can assess moderately complex requests against organization operating policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines and makes recommendations, and provide input into policy and procedure amendments.
