Advances the Community Giving strategy in support of BMO's reputation and share of voice. Cultivates, fosters and relationship manages community giving partnerships . Works cross-functionally to support the successful activation of each community giving property. Supports sponsorship and activation opportunities in alignment with brand objectives to include brand awareness, employee and community engagement, and business growth.

  • Manages the end-to-end work flow with the property (including proposal review & assessment, development of executive briefings, obtaining executive approvals, executing on approval letters and MOU/gift agreements, supplier set-up and Benevity maintenance, payment disbursement, cataloging tax receipts, impact reporting, and supporting the amplification & activation efforts)

  • Leads in the sourcing, assessment, diligence, design, and execution of donation properties aligned with the Community Giving strategy and focus areas.

  • Reviews the donation for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required.

  • Supports contract negotiations with partner, balancing cost, risk and performance.

  • Provides advice and counsel to business/groups on sponsorships, marketing alliances and special events.

  • Negotiates contracts and conducts analysis to ensure optimal benefit and impact to community.

  • Supports the execution of community giving properties while engaging internal partners and external partners to ensure alignment.

  • Establishes impact based measurement and evaluation metrics for properties.

  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.

  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.


  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study.

  • Strong knowledge of the Community Giving industry and competitive landscape.

  • Experience in contract negotiation and management.

  • Demonstrates achievement across our Purpose strategic areas

  • Thorough understanding of the financial industry.

  • Strong budget management capabilities.

  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
