BMO Global Asset Management believes that responsible investment is a mindset: as asset managers, we have a privileged and trusted position as stewards of capital, which gives us both influence and responsibility.

We take this responsibility seriously. We consider the impact of our investments on society and the environment, and the extent to which it affects long term value creation. We work closely with the companies we invest in as active ‘owners’, to improve the management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. We support this work with the thoughtful exercise of our voting rights. We strive to be thought leaders on these issues and their relevance to us as investors.

  • BMO GAM has a distinguished heritage. Having launched our first specialist ESG fund in 1984 we are a long-standing player in a market with many recent new entrants.

  • We offer investors a broad and credible range of specialist ESG funds – CAD$5.8 billion AUM as at October 2019

  • We engage and vote on behalf of assets managed by third parties, as partners to asset owners discharging their active ownership responsibilities – our responsible engagement overlay (reo®) service has CAD$ 225 billion assets under advice as at end of October 2019

  • Large, dedicated resource in the form of the Responsible Investment team – based in London, the Netherlands and Canada.

Our Responsible Investment team is made up of ESG specialists who are passionate about making a difference. Now is an exciting time to join the team as we have ambitious plans in this space. We are seeking highly motivated, passionate individuals to join our team to help us continue to innovate and be a leading asset manager in responsible investment.

If you’d like to join us on our journey, please get in touch.
