BMO Financial Group Manager, Performance Management Operations in Toronto, Ontario
The Manager Technology Performance Operations is accountable for managing the financial operations function in support of Technology which includes contract management, invoice processing/reconciliation, procurement, problem resolution with vendors/other stakeholders and time and materials (T&M) labour governance. The incumbent will also act as a change agent by actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls and governance, drive efficiencies and implement process changes
Ensure Finance Operations processes operate smoothly and timely in accordance with policies and procedures
Plan, organize and control the Finance Operations activities and service levels to key stakeholders including managing the escalation process
Review and approve, for GL input, financial transactions and month end journal entries
Drive the financial close process(Month-end/Quarterly/Annual) by ensuring the finance operations team produces accurate and timely T&M contractor accruals and month end journal entries
Ensure the integrity of reported financial results by determining that appropriate control processes are in place to support the complete and accurate reporting of results
Process owner and accountable to review and approve, for GL input, technology invoices
Identify opportunities for improvement in Technology Performance Management
Drive changes related to the Operations team and take ownership of results
Work on the execution of strategies, plans and process changes as set out by senior management
Relationship Management and Team Leadership
Work closely with your team to develop individual skills and capabilities to enhance versatility, productivity and capacity
Build and sustain a team of analysts who are capable of delivering the performance required for Technology Performance Management.This includes coaching and the creation and implementation of training and development plans
Apply the Bank’s performance management system, including establishing goals and objectives, assessing skilled knowledge gaps, allocating resources to achieve objectives and close gaps, assessing personal effectiveness, and reviewing and recommending base and variable pay
Undergraduate or graduate degree in business or economics is requi
Accounting designation is preferred, but not required – CPA, CA, CGA, CMA
5-7 years’ experience in a Finance function in financial services.
Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship managements skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
Proven record in change management in an operations environment; understanding of change management and project management methodologies
Forward and/or critical thinking ability
Flexible, adaptable and highly motivated
Effectively cope with complex and ambiguous situations
