BMO Financial Group Lead Application Software Developer - (Applications, Databases, Data modelling-mapping, Web Services, Server Side, ESB, SOA) in Toronto, Ontario

Description:

The lead application developer for Master Data Services is

responsible for leading the reusable data service modeling, design and development, so to establish the

common functionalities, practices and capabilities for supporting the build-out the core Master Data Services.

Essential Functions:

Provide technical expertise in leading the customer data and service modeling, design and

enhancement, to ensure the reusable, scalable, agile and high performance of the Enterprise Master

Data Services are delivered

Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for improving efficiency of systems and solutions,

explore opportunities to add value to the job accomplishments

Assist the team with requirement/use case analysis, in order to stream line the services being

provisioned.

Establish service design/development pattern and common practices for team to follow, in order to

support continue integration and continue deployment

Establish test driven data service practices for team to follow

Support service consumer by developing service catalogue, documentation and assistance tools

Provide support to QA resources during test cycles.

Work with across functional teams through service integration

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business owners on the governance model for master data

and system security

Execute key initiatives and ensure adherence to SDLC methods and practices

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, computer science degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

5-10 years’ experience as a Developer (applications, databases, web services, server side, ESB, SOA,

MDM)

Extensive knowledge of data mapping, data modeling, relational databases, and enterprise-wide

information systems.

Strong background and understanding of SQL database design, Master Data Management or previous

experience with Customer Data services

Deep hand-on experience with J2EE and SOA architecture, strong experience in leading the design of

reusable SOAP and Restful Web Services for data communication.

Proficient with J2EE, WSDL, XSD, XML, HTML, JMS, MQ, IBM WebSphere, IBM InfoSphere Master Data

Management, OSGi, Unix/Linux, DB2/SQL

Proven experience in leading large and complex enterprise service development & integration

Ability to analyze a problem with balanced perspective on strategic and tactical solution.

Ability to research and solve problems outside of the initial area of expertise

Ability to present to and interface with both business and IT partners in order to counsel, recommend

and implement successful, cost effective IT solution

Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through

requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
