Director, Quantitative EngineeringAs a member of the Global Markets team (GM), the incumbent will be expected to partner with Tradingand all pillars in Global Markets Engineering (GME) to drive the transition of BMO’s trade booking and riskmanagement systems across all products to a consolidated cloud-based system. Specifically, theincumbent will work as part of the Quantitative Engineering team in the design and buildout of the newplatform and must have the following: Prior experience with SecDB, Athena, Quartz or other equivalent system Demonstrable programming language expertise in Python, C#, and JavaScript/Glint Experience developing and maintain multiple web-based applications simultaneously using amodern deployment pipeline Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and business stakeholders tounderstand their needs and develop applications in an agile framework Experience developing and maintaining tools for monitoring and performance evaluation ofdata pipelines Familiarity with information security norms to apply security best practices to web-basedapplicationsMust demonstrate Engineering best practices including: SRE, Infrastructure as Code, Promotor ofdevelopment standards, documentation/training, code review policies, CI/CD, testingKnowledge Post Graduate University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other Quantitativediscipline Experience with microservices architecture such as Docker to modularize applications Assure data integrity and flow in high-volume streaming platforms Experience in open source technologies and modern data and Web architectures Familiarity with solving problems at scale and productionizing data pipelines Experience with cloud infrastructure Experience with financial markets, pricing, and trading/hedging strategies Experience with monitoring and metrics collection toolsSkills Strong quantitative, development and finance skills Knowledge of distributed computing is required Skilled in deploying solutions in a cloud environment Team oriented, comfortable sharing ideas and working effectively with others Able to exercise independent thought and judgment and adapt to new tasks with little notice Detailed, results oriented and efficient Excellent problem solving and analytical skillsKey Accountabilities Responsibility for core application development / infrastructure / devops of the consolidatedtrade capture and risk management platform at BMO Hands-on delivery of technical projects Identify operational scalability needs within the platform Provide performance metrics, capacity planning, and performance reports Engage with internal stakeholders on Engineering & support resource allocation Provide consultancy services within GME and to GM users related to the infrastructure andservices that Beacon provides
