MANDATE
The Global Equities team is a London-based center of excellence within BMO Global Asset Management (BMO GAM). The Global Equities team manages approximately C$8.5 billion using an active, fundamental, ESG-integrated investment approach. Its strategies include Responsible Global Equity, Sustainable Opportunities Global Equity, SDG Engagement Global Equity, European Equity, Japanese Equity and UK Equity.
The Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) role supports our growing Sales and Client Service activities. The CPM will work closely with the investment team to understand its investment process and will use that knowledge to lead meetings with existing and prospective clients as well as consultants. Based in Toronto, the CPM will also be responsible for ad hoc internal analyses and projects designed to support our sales and client service activities (e.g., attribution requests, RFP review).

Maintain strong working relationship with the investment team by serving as the relationship manager between the investment team and the client service/sales functions
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for and represents BMO GAM Global Equities strategies in the institutional, intermediary and affiliate channels of distribution
Serve as SME for the Responsible Business, including articulating our capabilities, global ESG product suite, and shaping thought leadership and white papers
Meet with clients, consultants, and prospects demonstrating this subject matter expertise
Oversee strategy positioning and differentiation within all channels
Perform competitive analyses as appropriate
Prepare quarterly investment commentaries and other collateral materials on an as-needed basis
Drive our global equity and Responsible business toward significant growth, in close collaboration with our distribution partners
Leads in RFP completion process via review of investment process, strategy, and related responses
Leads in responding to one-off client and prospect requests as appropriate (e.g., attribution, analyzing how our strategies would fit into an existing portfolio)
Integrated into the Investment team processes
AUTHORITIES
To deliver on these accountabilities, the incumbent must have the following authorities:
Advisory – Provides advice and counsel to colleagues on proposed client experience strategies based on strategic directions of the company.
Monitoring – Has the authority to collect or be provided with required information from others when reviewing and reporting on business reports for Sr. Management.
Issue Resolution - Resolve a diverse range of related issues/situations/problems within project scope and escalate to Regional Head when required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
5+ years of experience as an equities portfolio manager (preferably with a Global Equities and ESG focus), and/or as a product specialist (preferably with a Global Equities and ESG focus) with significant sales/client service experience
University degree required. Master’s degree preferred, ideally in an area such as Finance, Business, Mathematics, or Statistics
CFA strongly preferred
Bi-lingual (French) is preferred
Expertise of standard investment concepts required (e.g., risk and return, performance analysis metrics)
Knowledge of Global Equities and ESG investment concepts preferred. Examples include active, ESG-integrated investing, valuation, risk and factor-based modeling and analysis
Entrepreneurial spirit. Sees opportunity in growing, evolving, and innovating across our business.
Desire to work with an active, fundamental, high conviction investment team, where the focus is on thoughtful ESG-integrated company analysis and exploring positive sustainability thematic trends.
Ability to explain responsible and sustainable investment concepts in a high-level, easy-to-understand manner, while having depth to dig into details as required
Strong narrating skills to highlight both BMO GAM’s rich heritage in responsible and sustainable investing and our innovation track record to meet client interests and needs.
Well-developed oral and written communications skills
Must be comfortable in a team-oriented environment that prizes strong individual contribution.
Ability to multi-task and work independently in a rapidly changing environment

Ability to put the customer first and meet tight deadlines
Willingness to travel
