Position: Equity Research Associate (San Francisco, California)
Duties: Conduct research and analyses regarding debt, economics, equity, and fixed income to provide investment insight, commentary, recommendations, and strategy for retail, institutional, corporate, and government clients. Provide analyses and forecasts of the Canadian, United States, and international financial markets and global economy. Conduct financial analysis of industry groups and individual securities, including valuation and analysis of financial statements and press releases. Perform extensive industry and company analysis and data sourcing, creating and maintaining models. Develop financial models to project the future performance of the company for use as a basis for sophisticated valuations. Apply appropriate technical concepts and analyses to extract insights, leading consistent and reliable technical and financial analyses to support client deliverables. Examine financial reports, organizing data and collecting material. Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and streamlined reporting. Conduct primary research using electronic databases, industry overviews, surveys, and other methods. Manage databases for analysis, forecasting, and data visualization. Provide recommendations based on an understanding of the coverage universe and stakeholder needs. Build and develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Develop and manage a network of contacts within a sector. Respond to client and sales queries, providing relevant ideas and opinions to generate recommendations. Stay abreast of industry events, including new regulations and technological innovations, flagging new information. Create company and industry reports and notes on relevant investment themes and events. Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards. Provide feedback to support continuous improvement opportunities. Consider risk, internal controls, and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities, adhering to policies and procedures.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three years of experience in conducting financial analysis and research to provide insight and recommendations to clients. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): developing and analyzing financial models to project future performances for valuations; conducting research and analyses in semiconductor industry to provide insight, commentary, recommendations, and strategy for clients; managing client and internal stakeholder relationships, providing recommendations based on insights; applying appropriate technical concepts and analyses to extract insights, leading consistent and reliable technical and financial analyses to support client deliverables; and integrating information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and streamlined reporting.
