BMO Financial Group Vice President, Energy Transition – Global Project & Structured Finance in New York, New York

Job Summary:

Origination & Execution:

  • The VP will lead the execution process for new transactions with dedicated focus on the Energy Transition space. This will include managing a significant portion of the transaction process including due diligence, oversight of financial modeling, and managing the internal approval process.

  • The VP will take a leading role in structuring and negotiation of transactions, so strong knowledge of, and experience with, project finance structures and documentation are requirements.

  • Contribute to the origination process by working closely with senior members of the GP&SF team by participating in pitching activities across multiple industries with all BMO Capital Markets product groups.

  • Maintains strong internal networks with other product partners within BMO Capital Markets.

  • Monitors industry developments for changes and opportunities for our clients.

Coaching and Mentorship:

  • The VP will work closely with a team of junior professionals (Analysts, Associates, Interns) in the course of deal execution

  • Provide oversight to Analysts/ Associates on management of existing assets.

  • The VP will act as a coach/ mentor to junior professionals through transaction work and other channels.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within a project finance environment and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Undergraduate degree with focal areas of finance, economics, or accounting preferred with high academic achievement.

  • MBA, CFA or equivalent experience in financial services, accounting, or legal fields.

  • Relevant sector experience in Renewables is highly desired.

  • Displays advanced deal execution and/or project management skills - ability to manage more than one client / major initiative.
