Bank of Montreal seeks CM Vice President in New York, NY.

Duties: Create a suite of markets-based sales and trading solutions for clients. Provide clients with an environment to transact fixed income security products, gain valuable information about market conditions and receive customized hedge products. Maintain strong relationships with investors, understand their portfolio, and match services and products to client needs. Work closely with sales, trading, and research teams to provide seamless client coverage including fulfilling client requests for market updates and providing clients with specific product information through calls, presentations, and seminars. Recognize opportunities to cross-sell and to grow share of clients' wallet. Develop marketing ideas and help initiate transactions through appropriate presentation of financial data. Provide comprehensive service to clients, develop new solutions, and construct compelling recommendations. Provide competitive pricing to all clients and seek out new opportunities with prospective clients. Maximize profit while prudently minimizing exposure and adhering to regulatory statutes. Manage risk related to pricing and transacting in securities onto and off the internal balance sheet. Manage internal risk and take action to reduce exposure in developing and delivering client strategies, including the development of hedging and trading strategies. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Develop an understanding of all required systems and models and work with technology teams to deploy the appropriate model or system for accomplishing objectives. Respond to inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and determine acceptable solutions. Receive and review all transactions to ensure accuracy and that transactions conform to the regulations of SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory agencies. Make decisions based on a strong understanding of risks. Evaluate risk-return trade-offs, and proactively take accountability for risks assumed. Consider risk, internal controls, and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adhere to policies and procedures. Recognize changing market environments and adjust all aforesaid models, risk exposures, prices and recommendations on said changing environments. Promote and train new hires.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Management or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five years of experience as a financial analyst or related occupation analyzing hedging solutions, pricing securities and executing and hedging strategies in capital markets, trading or sales or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Management, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and plus three years of experience as a financial analyst or related occupation analyzing hedging solutions, pricing securities and executing and hedging strategies in capital markets, trading or sales. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include: communicating trade ideas and market commentary to clients, and managing risk during different market conditions, with respect to fixed income products including derivatives; developing and maintaining relationships with clients worldwide; directing and collaborating with operations, middle office, compliance, and technology teams to properly facilitate the changing needs of the trading business including prioritization, risk assessment, and efficiencies; performing data-driven decision-making tasks that include scenario trade analysis, regression analysis of traded securities, and forward-looking predictive models on client trading behavior; and analyzing needs of clients and designing financial products to meet their needs. Position requires 10% domestic and international travel.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
