BMO Financial Group Medallion Signature Guarantee Analyst in Naperville, Illinois


The Medallion Signature Guarantee Analyst is accountable to assist the Manager, P&BB Operational Risk & Compliance Unit in the management of operational risk and compliance in collaboration with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line of defense partners. They will support the implementation, management and monitoring of the business’s “first line of defense” activities/programs to ensure the business operates within the approved risk appetite and optimizes results while meeting internal and external requirements. The incumbent will provide support and subject matter expertise for implementation of effective internal controls including process improvements, metrics, governance and reporting to support value-added, cost-effective management of internal and external function requirements. They will manage/support issues resolution for the business unit including providing information, expertise and guidance to support specific event management recovery. This role will provide reporting of operational risk across the first line, foster awareness, and as regulations change or as regulatory issues are identified, provide advice and training to ensure successful implementation of necessary

Develop strong cross functional relationships at the middle management level of BMO so that we can effectively provide Medallion Signature Guarantee services to our customers.

Responsible for and management of the overall quality of service to our customers with added emphasis on risk containment to BMO.

  • Assists the Program’s Subject Matter Expertin the review and resolution of Medallion Signature Guarantee requests.

  • ·Assume primary responsibility for assistingin the management of customer relationships for this product line for varyinglevels of client value by building rapport with multiple Bank Managers and RetailRelationship Bankers at BMO.

  • ·Actively identifies and communicatesinaccuracies in proposed transfer requests.

  • ·As a Subject Matter Expert themselves, offerscolleagues strategic vision and big-picture thinking.

  • ·Understands & articulates customers mostcritical issues & challenges and works with Branch Managers and Bankers toprovide innovative solutions that effectively and legally meet client needs.

  • ·Reviews legal agreements, trustdocumentation, and other similar agreements, assessing degree of viability andrisk.

  • ·Act as resource internally regarding industrypractices, products, trends, services.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience in the Securities Industry, specifically stock transfer, brokerage, mutual funds and annuities.

  • Experience in required legal documentation required to complete a proper securities transfer request.

  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in a similar role, financial services industry preferred.

  • Familiarity with STAI regulations and its function.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, required.

  • Experience with the Salesforce platform, required.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and electronically.

  • Above average analytical skills.

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal Branch Managers and Bankers.

  • Proven ability to understand customer needs and develop the appropriate solutions within legal and risk parameters.
