BMO Wealth Management’s Senior Wealth Planning Consultant:
This role is part of a strategic client team that focus’s on providing customized, strategic wealth planning advice to High Net Worth / Ultra High Net Worth clients to help meet their short and long-term financial objectives. Acts as a subject matter expert in area(s) of specialized planning, including liquidity and retirement planning, income, estate and gift tax planning, trusts, charitable giving, risk management and business succession planning.
Works in a team-based environment with Relationship Managers, Private Bankers and Portfolio Managers to provide clients with strategic wealth planning insights, strategies and solutions.
Partners collaboratively with clients’ external professional advisors.
Works with closely-held business owners to turn meaningful succession planning conversations into actionable ideas based on a deep understanding of their unique concerns, family dynamics and business structures.
Facilitates/participates in goals-based discovery directly with clients.
Provides commentary on and awareness of emerging trends and new legislation through articles, case law, and advanced planning solutions.
Leads/participates in the development/presentation of educational programs in the area(s) of specialized planning within BMO and to clients.
Develops/maintains internal and external networks and referral sources to ensure ongoing growth of the business.
May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
Relevant professional designation(s), CFP. (CPA or JD a plus)
Between 6 - 10 years of relevant experience with HNW/UHNW and a University degree in relevant field of study.
Expertise with Business Owners; exit strategies, tax, estate and wealth transfer planning required.
Extensive technical proficiency in wealth planning issues and strategies.
Broad knowledge of investment management principles, economics and financial markets.
Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
Working knowledge of eMoney or other comprehensive financial planning software.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
