BMO Financial Group Service Delivery Lead in Chicago, Illinois

Monitors, restores service, changes, supports, and handles day-to-day activities 7/24/365 required to run the mission critical systems for the company ensuring business service levels are met and environments are managed. Monitors and ensures service restoration of infrastructure, applications (online and offline), and security, while meeting service level agreements. Provides the Help/Service Desk support, as well as coordinates and facilitates Incident Management, deploys changes to the production environment, and engages 3rd party providers contracted to the Bank during an incident. Provides immediate response to production program or system problems. Participates in testing cycles to ensure the ability to deploy and operability of infrastructure and applications. Deploys, implements, provisions applications and infrastructure per deployment plans and infrastructure build guides.

Job Description

Sr. Technology Analyst – TE0201

The Senior Technical Analyst acts as lead first line of Support for resolving application incidents and problems. The Technical Specialist is accountable for the analysis, maintenance, and ultimate problem resolution of applications in support of the Lines of Business (LOBs) strategies.


  • Performs in-depth analyses on production problems, identifies root causes, and recommends solutions to resolve application malfunctions and prevent recurrence

  • Leads triage sessions including multiple technology teams, vendors and business partners

  • Provide concise communications and follow up for RCA to various internal and external groups

  • Completes project deliverables (e.g., assists in the building of project check lists) in order to contribute to project implementations

  • Assumes the role of Support / Systems Analyst in major projects and initiatives, interacting and collaborating with team members and other departments, as appropriate, in order to gain knowledge relevant to application support (such as understanding new functionalities, what parts of the system is being changed, and required environmental changes) to ensure successful implementation of the environment changes

  • Participates in Disaster Recovery exercises, as a member of the technical recovery team or control center and contribute to the success of the Disaster Recovery tests

  • Provides coaching and guidance to team members and/or may act as a team/project lead

  • Liaises with third party vendors, when appropriate, to ensure that the integration of third party products and existing applications and systems is practical and feasible given the underlining technologies



  • Possesses a university degree/college diploma in Computer Science and/or 7+ years of technical/application or production support experience

  • Possesses solid understanding of design and analysis methodology and application development processes

  • Experience working in highly configurable software required

  • Knowledge of scripting SQL, and /or PowerShell, and Linux required

  • Knowledge of and experience supporting high availability enterprise systems required

  • Exhibits solid knowledge of databases

  • Exhibits solid analytic ability for complex problem solving


  • Possesses solid communication and interpersonal skills

  • Is able to handle multiple priorities

  • Is able adapt and quickly develop in-depth technical understanding of new/different applications

  • Demonstrates solid organizational skills

  • Exhibits solid communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Possesses expert understanding of relevant technologies

  • Experience supporting various Microsoft Windows and server environments required
