Partners with businesses to realize quick wins and shape a multi-year roadmap for accelerated growth & efficiency leveraging data, analytics and AI. Supports the definition of the accelerated data strategy for groups within BMO, including planning & executing accelerator workshops with business stakeholders, researching leading examples, identifying the top new acceleration opportunities, estimating cost and benefit by way of building business cases and managing change and communications. Acts as the integration point for triaging business requests and managing demand for data support as part of a multi-year roadmap.

  • Advises one group / portfolio to harness the power of Data, Analytics & AI to create a competitive advantage and accelerate growth.

  • Collaborates with senior leaders on growth objectives and formulates a joint vision to enable these objectives using Data, Analytics & AI, and architecture solutions.

  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.

  • Networks with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.

  • Prepares multi-year roadmaps to support a data transformation within the designated portfolio.

  • Identifies near-term pilots to prove value, generates business cases and tracks ongoing business benefits realized.

  • Develops solutions across key enablers including but not limited to Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning, Data Quality/Governance,

  • Digital, and Technology for areas such as pricing analytics, customer analytics, performance management, monetization, and others.

  • Identifies opportunities to apply advanced data mining and wrangling techniques, machine learning, graph, optimization, automation and other techniques as warranted.

  • Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.

  • Defines business requirements for analytics & reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making.

  • Analyzes information and metrics for trends in adoption, identify issues and report findings to senior leaders.

  • Develops expertise and promotes data preparation, data science and visualization tools, maintain/enhance training materials and contributes to/leads formal training sessions.

  • Guides adoption of self-service analytics tools by providing user training, early adoption support (e.g. pilots and proof of concepts in businesses functions) for all capabilities.

  • Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.

  • Leads the development of the communication strategy focusing on positively influencing or changing behaviour.

  • Collaborates across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behaviour.

  • Facilitates collaborative sessions with partners applying design thinking methods to engage stakeholders and generate key outcomes.

  • Partners with internal stakeholders to triage risks and issues related to Data, Analytics and AI.

  • Leads the execution of operational programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.

  • Develops and manages comprehensive information management systems; designs and/or leads initiatives to improve processes, analysis and reporting.

  • Oversees the design, development, and implementation of tools and training required to deliver business results.

  • Identifies quick wins and shapes a multi-year data strategy roadmap for the designated business/group.

  • Manages the intake process to prioritize projects and mobilize the appropriate Centres of Excellence (CoEs) for execution

  • Develops the business case by identifying needs, analysing potential options and assessing expected return on investment.

  • Identifies scorecard development and growth forecasts as part of value engineering.

  • Supports the creation of information products with the business/group to deliver results.

  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.

  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.

  • Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.

  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.

  • Develops and/or reviews estimates for project schedule, effort, and cost using established estimating models, best practices, and past experience.

  • Works in coordination with the business to deliver on identified use cases and requests.

  • Measures and monitors progress to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations.

  • Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure relevance of data governance actions and processes.

  • Develops and initiates use-case and acceleration initiatives.

  • Works with internal stakeholders to resolve data quality issues.

  • Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.

  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of knowledge in pricing analytics, customer analytics, performance management, or other areas.

  • Minimum of 5 years of knowledge in big data platforms and applications in one or more of the following: Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance and Wealth Management,

  • Minimum of 3 years in a strategy role (Analytics Strategy Consulting, equivalent) in which you developed strategies, roadmaps, operating models, business cases, and have structured new opportunities

  • Skilled in statistical analysis environments (e.g. R, MATLAB, SPSS or SAS).

  • Skilled in working with BI tools such as Tableau and Microstrategy, relational databases and Hadoop-based data mining frameworks.

  • Knowledge in working with SQL, Python, Java and C/C++.

  • In depth experience using machine learning algorithms.

  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
