BMO Financial Group Senior Learning Partner and Manager in Chicago, Illinois
Position has responsibility for the overall design, development, and project management of effective learning and development programs for LOB segment strategy, executions, quality, and impact. This role will partner and support the Head of Professional Development to assess Commercial employee needs, develop the learning strategy, design programs, and identify delivery methods including the identification of innovative learning methodology. This role has a strong internal consulting focus on the disciplines of leadership, sales, credit, risk and general employee onboarding and development.
This position is accountable for being a critical strategic business partner in which learning and development becomes an integrated component of the overall LOB Segment people strategies and helps drive business impact and employee performance and knowledge standards. This role regularly interfaces with colleagues at the senior level within the Commercial organization, influencing decisions.
This position is accountable for supporting the Head of Professional Development (PD) in the creation and execution of innovative learning strategies and other PD initiatives for both long-term (three year) and annual business plans through the needs analysis, assessment, design, development and implementation of integrated business learning and development strategies. Position partners with the Commercial Lines of Business and Headquarters, Segment Senior HR Business Partners, credit and risk partners, enterprise learning teams, and other strategic partners to lead the development of innovative learning strategies for the Commercial Bank.
Finally, the position is accountable for leading a team of professionals accountable for the delivery and logistics, day to day management, and organization for all learning and development curriculum. This team is also accountable for coordination with our business partners including change management and communications, budgeting, vendor relationships, contracts and learning site management.
Key Accountabilities
Relationship Management
Support the Head of PD in identifying both short- and long-term innovative learning strategies /solutions for LOB Segment
Work with LOB to assess and identify critical areas of performance opportunities/gaps in key roles and design specific learning solutions to address employee needs
Provides value added professional advice to Senior HR Business Partners, Segment leads and senior Management teams to enhance business, risk, credit and sales effectiveness
Curriculum Design & Development
Be a strategic learning and development business partner who applies extensive knowledge of business practices and processes to identify longer-term, sustainable, and innovative curriculum for all key roles in the LOB
Identify innovative learning opportunities and programs that would encompass the identified employee base
Design, Develop, and Implement programs that support the four key areas of focus: leadership, sales, credit, risk and intake.
Design and develop tailored learning solutions based on line of business objectives / needs/gaps.
Accountable for partnering with the business to design measurable sustainment strategies for all programs
Maintain up to date knowledge of industry leading learning solutions/adult learning to support the business objectives
Leverage technology and digital platforms to create learning and development solutions that embrace a forward-thinking approach
Project Management
Provide project management leadership, control, and direction in the management of assigned business and learning projects
Develop effective project plans to facilitate the building of learning and development programs and curriculum
Provide day to day management of assigned projects to ensure objectives are met within the negotiated timeframe, resourcing allocated and project budget
Compiles data and analyzes development requirements in the preparation of budgets and business cases for project approvals
Team Effectiveness
Collaborate internally with partners in LOB Human Resources, Lines of Businesses, IFL, BMOFG/Enterprise and externally with vendors/suppliers to design relevant, business initiative supporting programs, to be delivered through various channels
Collaborates with peers to investigate, recommend and / or implement changes to the learning process models, strategies and business process
Act as Subject Matter Expert on all key strategic areas

Compensation and Benefits:
$100,000.00 - $142,750.00
The base salary represents BMO Financial Group’s hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
Base salary is one component of BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package for employees, which may include performance-based incentives, commissions or discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
