BMO Financial Group Portfolio Support Analyst in Chicago, Illinois

Accountable for providing support to Portfolio Managers by completing quantitative and qualitative analysis of customer financial information and completing investigation as necessary. The role is accountable to understand the different customer segments and strategies they support and to provide accurate and effective gathering and interpretation/analysis of customer financial and account operation information and the preparation of annual reviews to support to the credit decisioning process for Portfolio Managers.

Facilitates decisioning and analysis of all types of credit information to support lending decisions and processes for the bank. Maintains and promotes a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations. This role will make credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and in compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures.

  • Analyzes financial information, tax returns, credit bureau reports and other related materials.

  • Provides accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.

  • Partners with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information.

  • Develops credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal and extension loans.

  • Prepares summary, present facts and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness.

  • Minimizes BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions.

  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

  • Completes complex & diverse tasks within given rules/limits and may include handling escalations from other employees.

  • Analyzes issues and determines next steps.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

  • Complete all scheduled reviews, as assigned/requested by designated Portfolio Manager in a timely manner and within acceptable quality including discussions with customer, conducting basic financial analysis, updating security information, workup credit application and forward to Portfolio Manager for decisioning.

  • Support Portfolio Managers with Annual Review process by identifying customers and accounts for review, completing spreads of financial statements and confirming risk positions.

  • Identify, record, and advise Portfolio Manager of any credit &/or risk management issues and related recommendations identified through review work.

  • Provide timely, accurate service and support to ensure the retention of valuable commercial clients and to identify and recommend workflow & process alternatives which can lead to improved efficiency and service levels.

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 2 – 3 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

$50,100.00 - $80,400.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
